6 Beauty Products You Don’t Need

Are you wasting money on beauty products you don’t need to splurge on? Here are 6 cosmetics that are just as effective at drugstore prices as they are at luxury prices. From cleansers to mascara, you might be surprised where you can save and where your money is actually better spent.

Expensive Facial Cleansers

Buying expensive cleansers is throwing money down the drain. Some cleansers cost more because they have antioxidants, antiaging ingredients, etc. But cleansers don’t stay on your face long enough for those ingredients to make a difference. Just buy a cleanser/wash that does the job, cleans your face and it’s for your skin type.

Expensive Body Lotions and Creams

They’re good as they moisturize your skin. If you have dry skin, use a cream. A lotion isn’t going to be moisturizing enough. I use Cerave Moisturizing Cream from the neck down because even though my face can be oily sometimes, the rest of my body is very dry. I prefer fragrance free creams.

Overpriced Moisturizers Without Proven Ingredients

Face creams with plant extracts, mystery or trendy ingredients. Many of these ingredients aren’t proven to work. Instead, use a basic moisturizer for your skin type and spend the money on treatments that actually work like retinol products.

Expensive Mascara

I used to think they were worth it until I tried Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara. It performs just as well if not better than mascaras that cost 3 times more. DHC Mascara Perfect Double Protection is a smudge proof mascara that cost more but it’s still inexpensive.

Blush

As we get older, powder blush can start to look cakey and dry. You can use your lipstick as blush. It blends beautifully even with a liquid bronzer. It looks more natural and automatically matches your lips, so your whole look comes together.

Expensive Liquid Bronzer

There are so many affordable liquid bronzers now that perform just as well as high end ones. I’m using Sephora Collection Instant Brozing Drops. You can mix it with moisturizer, sunscreen or foundation for a natural glow. It’s not a self-tanner so no worries about sunspots or streaks.
